Let someone else handle the details, so all you have to do is relax.
October 11, 2026
If you've ever planned a vacation online, you've probably experienced something like this:
You start by searching for a hotel.
Then you compare prices on five different websites.
You wonder if you should book the cheaper room or upgrade.
You read 200 reviews—half of them love the resort, while the other half say they'll never return.
Then you start looking at flights.
Should you purchase travel insurance?
What airport transfer do you need?
Is this cruise line better than that one?
Are there hidden fees?
Before long, what was supposed to be an exciting vacation has turned into hours of research and second-guessing.
Sound familiar?
You're not alone.
"Can't I Just Book It Online?"
Absolutely!
Today's travelers have more information than ever before. With a few clicks, you can book flights, hotels, cruises, rental cars, excursions, and almost everything else yourself.
But here's the question I encourage people to ask:
Just because you can book it yourself, does that mean you should?
Planning a vacation isn't just about clicking the "Book Now" button.
It's about making hundreds of small decisions that shape your entire experience.
That's where a travel advisor makes all the difference.
More Than a Booking Agent
Many people think travel advisors simply reserve hotels or cruises.
In reality, that's only a small part of what we do.
At Bridges Travel Co., I work alongside you throughout the planning process.
That means helping you choose the vacation that best fits your travel style, your budget, and your goals—not just what's trending online.
Every traveler is different.
Some want nonstop adventure.
Others want quiet mornings overlooking the ocean.
Some dream of magical Disney memories.
Others have spent years talking about finally taking an Alaskan cruise or exploring Europe.
There isn't one perfect vacation.
There's the perfect vacation for you.
Saving You Time
Let's be honest.
Time is valuable.
Between work, family, and everyday responsibilities, most people don't have hours to spend comparing resorts, reading hundreds of reviews, or figuring out which cabin category offers the best value.
That's where I come in—I do the research for you.
Instead of spending your evenings overwhelmed with choices, you can spend that time getting excited about your upcoming trip.
Helping You Avoid Costly Mistakes
Travel planning is full of details that are easy to overlook, like:
Passport expiration dates
Resort fees and cruise gratuities
Flight connection times
Airport transfers
Missing one small detail can create unnecessary stress—or even cost you money.
One of my biggest goals is helping you avoid those surprises before they happen.
(Next week, I'll walk through the seven most common travel planning mistakes and how to avoid them.)
Does It Cost More to Use a Travel Advisor?
This is the question most people are quietly wondering, so let's get it out of the way.
Nope!
Bridges Travel Co. doesn't charge a booking fee for hotels, resorts, cruises, or vacation packages.
How does that work?
Resorts, cruise lines, and tour companies pay travel advisors a commission when I book with them. That commission is already built into the price, so you pay the same rate you'd find booking directly, and you get a personal advisor along with it.
The one exception is flights-only requests. Airlines don't pay commission on airfare, so I charge a small fee when you only need flights. Add a hotel, resort, or cruise to your trip, and that fee is waived.
No fine print, no surprises. That's how I want every part of working with me to feel.
Personalized Recommendations
Have you ever searched online for "best Caribbean resort" or "best cruise line?"
You'll find thousands of opinions.
The truth is...
The "best" vacation depends entirely on you.
Do you want a quiet adults-only getaway?
A family-friendly resort?
Luxury dining?
Amazing beaches?
Lots of entertainment?
A slower pace?
Every recommendation I make is based on getting to know you and understanding what matters most to your vacation.
That's something an online booking engine simply can't do.
Support Before, During, and After Your Trip
One of the biggest advantages of working with a travel advisor is knowing you have someone in your corner.
Before your trip, I'll help answer questions, organize details, and make sure everything is ready.
During your vacation, if something unexpected happens, you aren't left figuring it out alone.
After you return home, I love hearing about your experiences and helping you start dreaming about your next adventure.
Because travel isn't just one vacation.
It's a lifetime of memories.
